Background
In H2 2021, I joined Novi, Meta's digital wallet and blockchain payment system. As the lead CD for Novi's Core Experiences team, I helped design the UX and built messaging of this new standalone app.
The Core Experiences team focused on providing fast, affordable, and secure ways for people everywhere to send, receive and spend money on Novi. This included making it easy to get money in and out of the Novi wallet, P2P money transfers across borders, and the off and onramp processes.
Process
During my time at Novi, I drove impact by prioritizing the P2P (peer-to-peer) pillar, focusing on projects such as Send & Request, Unilateral, and Authenticate, KYC (Know Your Customer) Authentication.
Details:
- Identified, tested, and implemented messaging differences for different user groups (remittance users vs senders, tech savvy vs less, etc). Result: 20% reduction in recipient-based technical failures; 55% increase in recipients being able to resolve without a Help ticket.
- Contributed to the standardization of content, user experience, and navigation element. This led to the creation of the Novi Content Design Standards for the 550-person Novi org (available upon request).
Solution
My efforts led to considerable impact via the following projects:
Strategy: I played a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for 2022 Core Experiences and Unilateral work. I also collaborated with the new PM to develop a comprehensive roadmap for 2022, demonstrating my strategic impact early on in my role.
Unilateral P2P:

Built Unilateral (ie sending funds directly P2P) flows into a final, ready-to-dogfood product.

After noticing bottlenecks in user behavior, I proposed and built new screens, including the Invite Modals.

Ensured consistency between different platforms and surfaces.
- P2P launched with 80%+ success rate, far above our P2P target.
Novi Content Standards:

After ID'ing patterns, consolidated standards and led workshops to inform design, PM, and CD org.

Established myself as a subject matter expert in content design; Received requests from other CDs for expertise on Novi content standards.
